The other problem with purely EV based home backup is that if you have to drive somewhere you house no longer has power.

IMO such a system should be additive to a home based battery backup system with solar, which should be sized for a day of emergency (minimal) home usage.

Such a system could top up from the EV when the EV is plugged in - assuming the PVs aren't producing.
