Implementation of early PayPal was horrific. You would insert a piece of JavaScript which held the price of the item with the PayPal iframe.

The hack was simple enough that you could change the price in the HTML and it could be purchased for that amount. You were suppose to implement verification yourself on checkout but no one did.
