Typical paper cups that are used to serve coffee produce massively more plastic particles and they are more toxic. One cup per year exceeds what whole year of coffee maker plastic releases..

plastic coffee maker: 7-20 particles

paper cup : 25000 particles

Ok, but real coffee drinkers don't use paper cups ...
They do when they are at work. People don't carry a tumbler when they go to the movies. There are starbuck's what do you call groupies and alike. The pods produce a lot of micro plastic too.

Years ago I looked for all stainless coffee maker and even the most expensive ones had plastic parts. The drip mechanism for all of them had plastic parts. I don't know if they have changed or not.

what, they don't have their company-provided mug with the company logo on it? Though to be fair at work, most employee have been given a mug, there's a stack of freely usable mugs next to the coffee machine and there's a dishwasher there too so you don't have to wash them by hand, but there are still people using the paper cups.

I'm sure a lot of workplaces have a kitchen with an assortment of random mugs. Maybe this is true at a construction site, but nowhere I've ever worked lacked non-paper cups.
Nope! The number of jokes I get at the office coffee machine (well the nespresso next to it) with my shot glass, you wouldn't believe. btw anyone tried the seaweed sphere capsules? :-)
