This is totally the case! The first time I was credited in a big production[0] I totally made my family watch the credits. Luckily, my name (Daniel Kvick) was quite close to the top.

Unfortunately, in the next game I made them watch the credits[1] for my son's name in Production Babies. It is right at the end and the wait was embarrassingly long.

I now always stay around in the movie theater to see who the sysadmins were that worked on the film, for solidarity reasons. :-) Pretty much all the movies these days have them, which I would have never imagined would be the case back in the '80s when I started this career path.
